An original handwritten copy in 31 volumes of the Civil War memoirs of Captain John H. Otto of Company D, 21st Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, who enlisted in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1862 and served until the end of the War, describing the organization of the company, its military campaigns including its march with Sherman, and discharge of the members in Washington, D.C. in 1865.
